Dr. Zuleikha Tyebjee is a board-certified family medicine physician with a focus on personalized, sustainable care. Known for her practical and compassionate approach, she works closely with patients to help them understand their conditions and actively participate in their care. As the founder of Mindful Medical Weight Loss in The Woodlands, TX, she specializes in obesity medicine, designing custom plans that combine dietary guidance, lifestyle changes, and medication when needed. Dr. Ty believes there's no universal solution to weight management — every patient's journey is unique, and she takes pride in helping them reach their health goals.
Dr. Ty earned her Doctor of Medicine from McGovern Medical School in Houston in 2017. She completed her family medicine residency at UT Health in Houston in 2020 where she gained hands-on experience treating a wide range of health conditions. Board-certified in family medicine and board-eligible in obesity medicine, she has spent years refining her skills in different healthcare roles, including primary care at Houston Methodist, emergency medicine at LifeSavers ER, and telehealth through Houston Methodist Virtual Urgent Care. In 2023, she channeled her passion into founding Mindful Medical Weight Loss, a practice dedicated to tackling weight management with the same evidence-based, individualized approach she applies across all areas of her work.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ty co-founded FosterDocHouston Dog Rescue with her husband in 2022. Based in Houston, the shelter rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes dogs, placing them with families across the country. To date, they've saved over 100 dogs, reflecting her belief in second chances — whether for patients striving for better health or animals in need of loving homes.
